Day 32 • Crescent City to Willow Creek • 133 mi

The old-growth Redwood groves start about 200m past the California/Oregon border. I wonder who drew that line...

We camped in one last night. The light coming down through the canopy is magical.

My clutch cable failed today, going up a long, steep hill.

It's, uh, not supposed to look like that.

I swapped in the spare cable, which took me far, far too long. I've worked on bikes in uglier places, though.

After the bike was roadworthy again, I got to take a short hike in Lady Bird Johnson Grove.

From there, only a few groves were left to ride...

Then just more gorgeous coastline, until we turned inland on CA-299 to camp.
