Navigation in Alaska is easy: when you wake up, you can either go this way on the road, or you can go that way on the road.

On a really big day, you might make two whole turns.

Things get a little more difficult once you reach civilization again.

I had a complicated route planned involving inland Oregon, but the coast was so pretty, I decided to just stick to 101.

The birds up here are unreal. At one point, I had about 10 osprey in sight. One of my new life goals is bringing an enormous lens up through this coast...

Here's the problem with 101, though: it's just too pretty to actually get anywhere.

I budgeted about 1:15 for the last 50 miles of the day.

It took about 2:30.

Could be worse.
