Day 27 • Golden to Penticton • 262 mi

The route from Golden to Penticton runs directly through Glacier National Park.

It's a surprisingly large highway, given that it transits a national park. There's very few opportunities to stop for pictures.

The original plan was to turn south at Revelstoke, and take the 23 to the 6 to the 97 to Penticton, but at 3pm in Revestoke I just didn't have 5.5 hours left in me. So, south on the 97 it was.

Didn't turn out so bad.

What it did turn out to be was hot. Once we dropped out of the Rockies, temperatures started creeping up—near around 100° F. The bike started surging again... it seems to be overheating. After letting it cool down, it didn't have any more issues.

Penticton was a welcome sight. Coming I along the lake, the evening light combined with he clouds to form an enormous double rainbow:
