Day 20 • Whitehorse • 5 mi

A slow Sunday in Whitehorse, waiting for the mechanics to come into work tomorrow. With an iffy bike, I didn't push things too hard.

Back during the Yukon gold rush, prospectors would raft down the Yukon River from Lake Bennett to Dawson City. Two of the most treacherous parts of that journey lie right by Whitehorse: Miles Canyon and the Whitehorse Rapids.

A hydroelectric project just outside of town has calmed both considerably.

The Yukon River is no joke, though... It's about 40-50 meters across and it flows just slightly faster than I am capable of walking.

Have you ever seen solid rock leave a wake?
