Day 9 • Denali to Fairbanks • 130 mi

Short post today (because actually I was compiling the Denali ones!).

We began exiting Denali National Park around 10am, and finally managed it around 2pm. Still unsure how.

But we did get to meet some sled dogs at the Denali kennels!

No plan survives contact with the weather and time. We originally thought to ride the Denali Highway and cut up to Delta Junction, a tough 6 hour ride (not including stops). But it was 45°F and raining, after 3pm, and with a tired chase car driver, riding 120mi of dirt just seemed like a bad plan.

Instead, we finished up the Parks highway, heading north from Denali to Fairbanks. This section is a little bit skippable.

Nearing 12:30 now. Time for naps...
